Trail Journeys can arrange as much or as little of your Otago Rail Trail cycling itinerary as you desire. We offer a free itinerary planning and booking service, we have our own fleet of over 500 hire bikes; we provide passenger, luggage, and bike transport as well as booking other transport services, accommodation and off trail side trips like curling or wine tours. Trail Journeys was the "Supreme Tourism Business" award winner at the 2010 Otago Business Excellence Awards.

CUSTOM AVANTI BIKES

In conjunction with Avanti, we developed a new bike specifically for the NZ Cycle Trails. We improved important areas including; puncture resistant tyres, good quality bearings and comfortable riding position with high rake stems and some bikes come with handlebars that sweep back slightly for maximum comfort, soft comfort saddles and many other features identified by our staff. ENJOY A HOT SHOWER AT THE END OF THE OTAGO CENTRAL RAIL TRAIL

Thanks to the well located placement of our depots at each end of the Otago Rail Trail, cyclists can enjoy a nice hot shower, always a welcomed treat when you finish the trail. While you're there you can also shop for merchandise and momentos of your cycle trip.

HANDPICKED ACCOMMODATIONS

Save time and let us arrange your choice of accommodation, budget, standard or luxury, along the trails with our free accommodation booking service - it will cost you no more than if you booked it yourself. There is an array of cottages, lodges, B&Bs, holiday parks, motels and hotels to choose from. After we establish your requirements and budget, our knowledgeable team will arrange suitable accommodation and send you suggestions for your approval.

RELIABLE TRANSPORT & LUGGAGE TRANSFERS

Trail Journeys offers a full Cycle Trails luggage transfer and transport service for all trails we offer using our own fleet of buses, vans and trailers. We can also transport you and your bike to various sections of the Cycle Trails or from one end to the other to start, or once you’ve finished cycling. If you are cycling two or more trails we can transport you between the trails. Talk to us about tailoring a private trip utilising our knowledge and transport services.

RAIL TRAIL MERCHANDISE & CYCLING ACCESSORIES

Trail Journeys offers Rail Trail merchandise & refreshments at our depots in Clyde & Middlemarch. If you forgot something, we also have a retail outlet for cycle clothing and accessories. Bookings for other activities in the Central Otago can also be made through our new booking terminal. If you need accommodation, travel, guided trips or wine tour bookings in our area, Trail Journeys are happy to help with your requirements.
