Comfort Bikes (Standard Frame and Low Step Frame)

Our trail bikes are ideal for the Alps to Ocean trail. Merida Crossways bikes feature an upright riding position, front suspension and a gel seat for maximum comfort. They come fitted with a rear rack and a saddle bag. With proven Shimano & Tektro componentry, 29" wheels and hydraulic disc brakes, these bikes ensure the best possible riding experience. They are available in a low-step model.

Comfort e-Bikes (Standard Frame)

Our Merida eBikes feature the latest Shimano drive unit giving you smooth yet powerful assistance whenever you need it. Large volume 29" tyres, a front suspension fork and mountain bike inspired geometry deliver capable and confident handling for this adventure. A low-step frame design with powerful integrated 630 WH battery has this ride covered. EBike hire is subject to availability.

Comfort e-Bikes (Step-Through Frame)

The Merida Espresso eBike is designed with an easy step-through frame for effortless mounting. Powered by a reliable Shimano motor, this eBike offers smooth pedal assistance, making hills and longer distances a breeze. Equipped with high-quality components and rugged tyres, a long-lasting battery, integrated rear rack, this eBike ensures a comfortable and versatile ride for all levels of cyclists.

Children's Mountain Bikes 24" Frames

Small Merida bikes, with 24" wheels, 8 gears, hydraulic disc brakes and suspension forks ensuring a safe and comfortable ride. Designed for most children aged between 4-7 years, heights from approx. 129-137 cm tall.

Children's Tag Along Bike

These bikes attach securely to an adult's bike via a hitch or connector. The child sits on the tag-along bike, which has a single wheel, handlebars, pedals, and a seat, allowing them to pedal along or simply enjoy the ride. They’re perfect for giving kids a safe and fun way to participate in longer cycling adventures, such as the Alps to Ocean trail, without the physical demands of riding solo.

Children's Trailers

Lightweight, towable attachments that connect to the back of an adult bike, providing extra space to safely transport young children. Child trailers are enclosed with a sturdy frame, weatherproof cover, and comfortable seating, keeping kids secure and protected from the elements during the ride, and ensure a smooth, balanced ride even on varied terrain.

Baby Seats

Larger seats can be fitted on the bike carrier on an eBike or comfort bike, or shotgun seats which are positioned on the top tube between the handlebars and the rider. Suitable for small children generally up to 3 years old who are too small to ride independently but want to feel involved in the adventure.

Bike Hire Pricing

Prices for our bikes range between $40 (child's bike), $65 (standard bike) and $140 (eBike) per day
All bike hire's include a helmet, repair kit, bicycle lock and rear carry bag or pannier.
E-bikes are subject to availability.

Complete Back-up and Support

For self-guided cyclists on the Alps to Ocean trail, we provide the support you need for a smooth and enjoyable trip. While we assume you have basic bike maintenance knowledge, such as fixing a puncture, our team is here to assist with everything else you might need. We offer a pre-trip briefing and A2O trail maps to keep you on track.

Our support vehicles are on standby for emergencies or unexpected challenges, though a charge may apply. We provide luggage transfers between accommodations so you can focus on enjoying the ride. Additionally, our bikes are carefully maintained and equipped with toolkits and spare tubes to handle minor repairs along the way, giving you peace of mind as you cycle through New Zealand’s stunning landscapes.
